In the M.Sc. Business Chemistry you can complete modules in the third and fourth semester abroad.

The industry pathway in the third semester offers you the unique opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience in an international environment by carrying out one or two internships abroad. This study path is aimed at training highly qualified specialists for a career in the global chemical industry.

The start-up pathway in the third semester of the Master's program in Business Chemistry offers you the unique opportunity to develop and implement your entrepreneurial ideas in an international context. This study path is designed to prepare future entrepreneurs for the challenges of a globalized business world. When you chose the start-up pathway, you can apply for an incubator or accelerator programme at a university overseas and have it recognised for the chemistry and entrepreneurship module. This way you can work on your start-up idea abroad for a whole semester.

Developing a start-up project abroad has many advantages:

  • Expand your entrepreneurial horizon by getting to know a start-up ecosystem abroad
  • Build a global network of potential international business partners and investors
  • Improve your chances of future international career opportunities
  • Gain a better understanding of international customers and markets
  • Improve your foreign language and intercultural skills

Another option to gain experience abroad is the science pathway in the third semester of our master's degree programme. Here you have the chance to complete the chemistry modules through the international partnership agreements and foreign contacts of the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy.

A semester abroad in the science pathway of the M.Sc. Business Chemistry offers numerous advantages:

  • Expanding your scientific profile through access to courses and laboratory equipment at a foreign partner university
  • Improve foreign language skills, especially English, which is essential for a career in academia or industry

Another option for studying abroad is the master's thesis phase in the fourth semester. Completing your master's thesis abroad offers you a unique opportunity to crown your academic education with international experience by carrying out your research in a new cultural environment. You can complete your research project in cooperation with companies abroad.
