The University of Münster: a film portrait
Founded in 1780, WWU Münster is a university with tradition. Today, it is one of the largest universities in Germany, with 43,000 students, 4,900 academic staff, and 250 degree programmes in 120 different subjects. The university's strong research profile covers a wide range of subject areas, including the humanities and social sciences - as is reflected, for instance, in the Cluster of Excellence Religion and Politics, founded in 2007. Interdisciplinarity and internationalism play a central role in our research and teaching. In total, we have 25 research centres, eleven graduate schools (most of which are international), and over 400 partnership agreements with universities and other academic institutions all over the world.
