Regional Group Munich

The Munich regional group was founded in January 2024 to provide an opportunity to network with other former students in the Munich area, plan joint activities and exchange ideas about their time at university.

Events and activities organised by the regional group will be announced here. In addition the Alumni-Club Universität Münster will send e-mail invitations to the meetings of the Munich regional group to all members of the Alumni-Club, who live in Munich and its vicinity.

Visit to GEMA

On Monday, June 2, 2025, the regional group visited the GEMA General Directorate in Munich.

Visit to the Münchner Merkur

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the regional group visited the Münchner Merkur publishing house.

Dr. Dirk Ippen, publisher of Münchner Merkur, Westfälischer Anzeiger Verlagsgesellschaft and tz, gave a talk about his life as a publisher, his career and the history of Münchner Merkur.

Dirk Ippen is himself an alumnus of the University of Münster, he studied law in Freiburg, Hamburg and Münster and completed his doctorate in 1967.

Anja Najda, Deputy Head of the Fundraising Department at the University of Münster, and Christian Pasedag, Regional Group Leader, welcomed the 20 visitors who had traveled from Munich and the surrounding area to get to know the Münchner Merkur and get to know each other.

Afterwards, the regional group was invited to enjoy wine and cheese in the historic Buttersack hall. Alumni from various fields of work talked about their time at the University of Münster and stayed until late in the evening.

The regional group met for the first time on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 7:00 pm.
