Research Concept
SASCHA is organized in eight closely linked subprojects (SP) focusing on the analysis and monitoring of land cover and current land-use change (SP 2), hydrology including modeling of water and matter balances under global change (SP 3), quantification of greenhouse gas fluxes (SP 4), sustainable agricultural management and adaptation strategies to climate change (SP 5), carbon stocks and biodiversity in non-arable ecosystems (SP 6), landscape planning (SP 7), institutions, property rights, governance structures and implementation capacities (SP 8). The central coordination (SP 1) will guarantee the internal and external communication and work flow. Temporally, SASCHA is scheduled in a data compilation phase, an evaluation phase and an implementation phase.
An overview of the project structure and the workflow is given in the overall workplan of SASCHA. More detailed information on contributions of Russian partners, applied methods and specific objectives can be found in the description of the individual subprojects.
