Introduction
The main goal of the research is to optimise and to advance the IR
converter to build a commercial product. Beside this work we are interested
to understand more details of physical processes.
The work of our group takes place in co-operation with the people of
the group pattern formation in gas discharge systems. The main interest
of this group is to use the semiconductor-gas discharge structure as
a non linear system. Many different structures can be observed with
these systems. E.g. a homogeneous discharge can destabilise to a hexagon
struture which develops to a stripe structure (behaviour is depending
on changing of parameters). By getting more information of this behaviour
the area of operations of the IR converter can be extended.
