Optic flow is the retinal movement pattern induced by the relative motion of an observer through the world. Such a movement pattern contains information about the observers motion, the structure of the world and other moving objects. It can be used for the guidance of locomotion with its contribution to heading estimation, posture control, object detection and many more applications. I want to focus on the ability to detect independently moving objects solely based on informations gathered from optic flow.
The topic I want to work on is the processing of optic flow, in particular the estimation of heading direction and object detection.
