Dissertation project
Fernanda Alvares Freire is currently pursuing a PhD in Ancient History at the University of Münster, funded by the Brazilian CAPES Foundation. She holds a B.A. and M.A. degree in History from the University of Brasília, Brazil. Her current research employs Social Network analytical methods to investigate the patterns of social interaction represented inthe documents of a subset of the Zenon archive (3rd century BCE). It is a case study that allows for the analysis of the pattern of social structure in quotidian business and political dealings centered in the Fayum. Her research interests include Digital Humanities, Social Network Analysis, relational data extraction from texts, social history.
