Greta de León, originally from Mexico City, is a cultural diplomat, curator, and researcher with a background in Art History and Museology. As Executive Director of The Americas Research Network (ARENET), based in Washington, D.C., and Mexico City, she spearheads interdisciplinary research initiatives, fosters cross-cultural collaboration, and develops programs that bridge academic scholarship, social justice, and the arts across the Americas.

Her work explores the intersection of academic research, museums, cultural institutions, and artistic practices, integrating digital technologies to expand access and engagement. Through curatorial activism and cultural diplomacy, she challenges historical erasure, advocates for equitable representation, and fosters dialogue that amplifies Original Peoples’ perspectives, linguistic diversity, and contemporary artistic expression. Her exhibitions, publications, film and public programs serve as platforms for inclusive narratives and transformative discourse, rethinking the role of museums, archives and cultural spaces in shaping collective memory and social change.
