Classification of information
The classification of information creates the prerequisite for ensuring confidentiality and integrity in the daily handling of information. The confidentiality class assigned to information must be defined for the first time when the information is created and determines the guidelines for handling the information.
The guideline for the classifcation of information defines the confidentiality classes and describes labeling requirements for information as well as the requirements for storage and disclosure depending on the confidentiality class specified by the information owner.
The handout for the classification of information describes the confidentiality classes of typical information and the appropriate handling of this information according to the respective confidentiality class using examples from everyday working life at the university. In addition, a tool is available with which the intended handling of information according to the handout can easily be determined.
