An increasing number of phishing emails are currently being sent to many members of the University of Münster.
The emails have the subject "Sicherheitsbenachrichtigung:" followed by your own ID and claim that a notification for the evaluation of a task is to be viewed.
The fake sender is "IT-uni-muenster.de".
The link it contains leads to a malicious external website that is a deceptively genuine replica of the University of Münster's login page.
Access data entered will be forwarded to the attackers.
Do not open any links contained in the e-mails described, do not reply to them and delete them immediately!
It is no longer necessary to report these fraudulent e-mails, as countermeasures have already been initiated.

Due to a vulnerability in earlier versions, at least client version 5.16.10 from 20.11.2023 (currently version 5.17.5-7 from 31.01.2024) will be required from 26.02.2024 to participate in Zoom meetings at the University of Münster.
We therefore recommend updating the affected Zoom clients before the above date. After the guidelines have been tightened, participation in meetings is still possible via web browser. The auto-update function of the client is activated by default.

If you use both Acrobat Pro and Adobe CC with your Microsoft Entra account (formerly Microsoft Azure) at Münster University, it is possible that you will have to select a profile the next time you log in to either software.
According to available information from Adobe, you can always select the profile for Adobe CC in this case, since this profile also ensures access to Acrobat Pro.
If the Microsoft Entra account of the University of Münster is also used for another Adobe account (e.g. for a private Adobe account), each account receives its own profile. When logging in, the corresponding desired profile can then be selected.

Due to new regulations, new digital IDs are only valid for two years and impersonal digital IDs will only be issued with an email address but no owner information.
Due to the renaming of the university, email addresses with @wwu.de will no longer be included in new digital IDs.
A Confluence outage on Wednesday, September 6 at around 16:00 unfortunately meant that we had to use a backup from the previous day (Tuesday, September 5, 19:10) to restore. On July 20, 2023, vendor support for Sophos Endpoint and Server Protection (Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows, Linux, and macOS) ends. Devices that continue to use the products after this date will no longer be protected against the latest threats. For private endpoints, you can migrate to Sophos Home Premium free of charge (https://www.uni-muenster.de/IT/en/services/arbeitsplatz/software/sophos.html). The migration of the service endpoints has already been taken care of by the IVVs.

Securing the IT portal via 2-factor security In the future, access to the IT portal will be secured in such a way that it will then only be possible with password+one-time password (OTP) or with digital ID. All users who have not yet set up 2-factor security or 2-factor security with MTAN in the IT portal will be asked to change their settings by circular email.

That means that very outdated webbrowsers will not be able to load content of www.uni-muenster.de and several other servers.
