Competitions

We enable students and staff from Münster University and Münster University of Applied Sciences to take part in national and international competitions. For this purpose the two universities join together as one team. At a national level the competitions are coordinated by the German University Sports Association (adh), the umbrella organisation for university sports in Germany. In the summer and winter semesters, the adh organizes over 50 competitive events in more than 30 disciplines for its member universities.

In order to provide even better support for individual top-level athletes from the student community, Münster University has been a "Partner University for Top-Level Sports" since 2002. This means that support is provided for the athletes by, for example, giving them individual guidance in planning and organizing their studies, by offering them individually agreed dates for handing in work or sitting examinations, and by helping them to find accommodation. Also, the sportsmen and women receiving support can use the University’s sports facilities free of charge and receive assistance in the case of any conflicts.
