Tagung des Centre for Empire Studies
Am 10. und 11. Oktober 2024 findet anlässlich der offiziellen Eröffung des Centres eine Tagung zum Thema Empire Studies: (Post)Colonial Histories and Global Entanglements statt. Entlang der Säulen Imperiale und postimperiale Gesellschaften und Kulturen, Transimperialität sowie Mobilität und globale Verflechtungen werden sich (inter)nationale Sprecherinnen in Vorträgen mit dem Themenkomplex Empire auseinandersetzen.
Der erste Tagungstag wird im Gerichtssaal des Heereman'schen Hof stattfinden, der zweite Tag im Käte Hamburger Kolleg. Auf dem Programm stehen unter anderem drei Panels zu oben genannten Säulen sowie eine Keynote von Frederick Cooper und Jane Burbank. Auch die Ergebnisse des Call for Posters werden auf der Tagung präsentiert.
