The Centre for Empire Studies. (Post)Colonial Histories and Global Entanglements will follow on last summer's lecture series. In this summer semester a lecture from the field of Empire Studies will also take place on three dates. The first lecture will be given by Michael Grünbart on the Middle Ages on 07.05.2025: "Wo endet ein Empire? Das Reich der Rhomäer und seine Grenzen" and will take place in F3 of the Fürstenberghaus at 6 o'clock c.t.

On 21.05.2025 Stefanie Gänger will talk about the following topic: "Very Ill of a Pestilential Fever“. Geschichte(n) vom Fieber in den britischen, französischen und spanischen Imperien, 1770-1830". Her talk will take place in F102 at 6 o'clock c.t.

This will be followed on 25.06.2025 by a lecture by Beatrice de Graaf on the Modern Era. She will talk about "Radical empire in 1830 – stories of Dutch-British entanglement in South-East Asia (and Brussels)". The talk will take place in F102 at 6 o'clock c.t.
