Matt Duckham: Ambient spatial intelligence
Sensors and computing devices embedded in our everyday, dynamic environment have the potential to respond to queries about the events that are occurring; to support better scientific understanding of spatial events; and to improve human decision-making based on those events. With specific examples of applications to environmental monitoring and emergency information systems, this talk will discuss some progress in geoinformatics research towards achieving this vision, as well as some of the challenges to further progress.
