Dear Scientist,
the electronic submission of abstracts for the 23rd International Symposium on Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds (ISPAC 23) is now possible! You can submit your contributions until 15 June 2011 using the abstract submission page on the site
www.ispac23.uni-muenster.de
You are welcome to submit any contribution that deals with polycyclic aromatic compounds, no matter in what context the research stands. There will be an opportunity to present all kinds of research. Both oral presentations and posters will be accepted.
You can also register for the meeting at a reduced rate until 15 July. Discount rates are provided for ISPAC members and graduate students. See the website for all details, also for how to join ISPAC as a member.
The social program is an important part of ISPAC meetings – you have an excellent opportunity to relax but also to meet and get to know fellow conference participants in a casual atmosphere. You will find the social program online.
It is a great ISPAC tradition to honor a scientist who has done major contributions to research in the PAC field. This will be done at ISPAC 23 again, and the awardee will be invited to the meeting and give a lecture on a PAC topic of his/her choice.
In 2009, Professor Lawrence T. Scott, Boston College, received the ISPAC award for "his outstanding contributions to the field of polycyclic aromatic compound research, particularly in the areas of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon synthesis and mechanistic investigations." (http://www.ispac.org/awards.html)
We now invite nominations for candidates for this award for 2011. Anyone can nominate a scientist working in any field of PAC research, but the nomination should be supported through a seconding letter by a second scientist.
The international award committee consists of the following persons:
Nominations can be sent to the chair of the award committee with a deadline of 31 May, 2011:
Dr. Eric Villenave

Dr. Villenave will be happy to give further information on the nomination process.
We look forward to receiving your abstracts and to welcome you to Münster in September to a great meeting!
