Careful data organization and preparation may require additional effort at the beginning, but it saves time and effort over the course of a project. Before you start your research work, it is therefore important to plan and document how you will handle the data. We will show you which tools can help you with this.

Planing
Even before the start of a research project, the handling of the data and results should be planned. One tool for this is the data management plan (DMP). Here, you can find out how to set up a DMP for your research project.

Documentation
Research data should be described and documented meaningfully and in as much detail as possible. On the one hand, to enable you as a researcher to work efficiently, and on the other hand, to allow optimal reusability by third parties.
