Warped cones are metric spaces associated with group actions on compact spaces. They have been used to construct expander graphs and are known to have interesting Roe algebras. However, our understanding of these objects is still somewhat limited. The general aim of this talk is to discuss some old and new results and observations concerning Roe algebras of warped cones. This is part of an attempt to understand more precisely how these objects relate with more classical construct.
