Wilhelm Killing Kolloquium - Prof. Dr. Hannah Markwig (Tübingen): per ZOOM: Curve counting and tropical geometry

Thursday, 16.07.2020 16:30 im Raum ZOOM

Mathematik und Informatik

The talk introduces tropical geometry as a tool for enumerative geometry. In enumerative geometry, we study counts of curves satisfying certain conditions. Particularly, we consider generating series for important enumerative invariants. Some of them appear in the context of mirror symmetry and can be related to Feynman integrals. This can be used to study their properties such as quasimodularity.
