Kolloquium Wilhelm Killing: Prof. Dr. Henning Krause (Bielefeld): Support and stratification of modular representations

Thursday, 25.10.2018 16:30 im Raum M5

Mathematik und Informatik

What does it mean to classify the modular representations of a finite group? The talk will discuss the notion of cohomological support which provides a method to achieve such a classification, similar in spirit to Quillen's stratification of group cohomology. I will also discuss the more general context of tensor triangular geometry, because there are similar notions of support in other subjects, for instance in algebraic geometry and stable homotopy theory.
