Kolloquium Wilhelm Killing: Prof. Dr. Oliver Röndigs (Universität Osnabrück): Stable homotopy groups of spheres over a field

Thursday, 03.05.2018 16:30 im Raum M5

Mathematik und Informatik

Abstract: Classical stable homotopy groups of spheres have fascinated geometers and topologists for decades, because of their intrinsic structure, and their geometric implications. Work of Morel and Voevodsky allows to consider stable homotopy groups of spheres over a field. This talk will survey the current state of knowledge and explain some applications in algebra, geometry, and K-theory.
