Abstract: There is an infinite-dimensional (continual) analog of Cartan subgroup of SL(2,R), and there is a distiguish measure (the analog of Lebesgue measure) in the space of Schwarz distributions which is invariant under that group. This measure plays crucial role in the theory of the representations of gauge groups.
