Stefan Gille (Universität München): Chow motives of surfaces

Thursday, 21.04.2011 16:30 im Raum M5

Mathematik und Informatik

In the first part of my talk I will give an introduction to the theory of Chow motives. In the second part I will discuss some recent results on Chow-motives (with integral or finite coefficients) of surfaces. In particular I will introduce the upper motive of a geometrically rational surface which turns out to be a birational invariant.
