FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAM
What are enrolment requirements for the Master of Education Program?
Any student who wishes to complete the MoEd requires the respective bachelor's degree. Additionally, the MoEd for higher-level secondary and comprehensive secondary schools requires students to possess the qualifying examination in Greek (Graecum) and in Latin (Latinum), or in Hebrew (Hebraicum). Latin may be replaced with the Hebraicum. Furthermore, students need a completed module in the discipline of religious pedagogy.
Why do I need a study pass?
It is your most important document. You must record all academic achievements into the pass as you do not register courses and classes via the QISPOS portal. The study pass is available at the dean's office (office hours: mon-fri 9-11 a.m. & thu 1-3 p.m.) of the faculty of protestant theology as well as with the faculty advisor.
Do I have to register my courses via the QISPOS portal?
No. This applies to any student within the pilot project of a master's degree program. Please contact Examinations Office I once you have finished your master's degree. Your grades will be transferred into the electronic examination system to generate an electronic degree certificate. Any student enrolled in a master's degree program within the TTA (Teacher Training Act) 2009.
Do I have to register my courses via the LSF portal?
In order to facilitate the allocation of students into their classes, please register all classes via the LSF portal before the start of the new semester. Some classes with low capacity will limit the registration to a certain amount of students; thus, you must register for them. Otherwise, you cannot attend those classes.
Do I have to study the modules of the program in the order as preset by its examinations regulations?
No. Students are free to arrange the order as they wish. Please pay close attention to the specific stipulations relevant to the subject of your master's degree program.
Can I study one module for two semesters?
Yes, you can study one module for more than one semester. Do consider though that it becomes tougher and more time-consuming to prepare for the final module examination if the course you attended lies long in the past.
I have additional internships. Can I request a continuation of the provided supervision by the faculty of protestant theology if they exceed the five week mark?
It is possible to seek an extension and an inclusion for the supervision to your additional internships with the faculty of protestant theology. Here's a tip: contact the respective lecturers as soon as possible.
When can I register my final module examination?
All degree-relevant examintations must have been corrected and be available in order to register for a final module examination. Note: students must also have attended all courses of the respective module or attend them in the respective semester at which end the final module examination takes place.
How do I register my Final Module Examination? (Applies to pilot project)
Students can find the corresponding documents for a registration on the website of Examinations Office I/ Master (written exams / oral exams). Only available in German. Please fill in the registration document completely and have your responsible module commissary sign it. You may pick the examiner for any oral final module examination yourself. They must also sign the registration document.
Where do I look for the dates of the registration to oral and written Final Module Examinations?

What is an equivalent to a state examination? (Applies to MoEd pilot project)
Equivaents to state exainations are written examinations (240 min.) and oral examinations (45 min.).
Do I have to register in a special way to an equivalent state examinaton? (Applies to MoEd pilot project)
No. You register exactly as you would for an examination that is not a state exam equivalent examination. Caveat: invigilators must be appointed as an examiner for the LPO (teaching degree examinations regulations) 2003. You can find a list of proctors in the display cases and the bulletin boards on the first floor.
Do I need to present the term paper (draft lesson plans, etc.) before I can register for the Final Module Examination?
You are required to present all academic work relevant to the examination before registering.
Am I required to register a term paper from my module with the Examinations Office I?
No. Please discuss these assignments with you lecturer.
How do I go about planning my Master's Thesis?
You may complete you master's thesis in connection with any module, based on its contents. The one exception is the Master of Education with the goal of teaching at a vocational college. In this academic program, the thesis can only be written within the academic‐theoretical module or with the subject‐specific didactics module. Information regarding the timely planning of your thesis may be found on the website of Examinations Office I/ Master. Only available in German. Please fill in the registration form. It requires a signature from the responsible module commissary and the names of the proctors. Please turn in the registration form to Examinations Office I. Please consult the faculty advisor if you have any questions.
How can I find a supervisor for my master's thesis?
Make an appointment with the lecturer, whose course you wish to base your thesis on, during their office hours. Create a draft and discuss further matters with them. Caveat: Whoever is chosen to assess your master's thesis must have the examination right for the LPO 2003. You may find a list of proctors in the display cases and here.
