Offered realities? [German: Gebotene Wirklichkeiten?]
Antje Roggenkamp (Ed.),
Reettakaisa Sofia Salo (Ed.),
Traugott Roser (Ed.)
The everyday life of girls and women as well as queer persons is subject to manifold restrictions in the present. These are based on manifold structural disadvantages, which are often deeply rooted and anchored in history. The contributions to this anthology explore the following questions, among others: What was life like for women and queer persons in antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the early modern period? To which commandments and prohibitions were they exposed? Who had the power to normatively intervene in the lives of others? To what extent does the discrimination of certain groups of people in religious discourses and contexts continue today?

The material culture of religion [German: Die materielle Kultur der Religion]
Sonja Keller / Antje Roggenkamp (Ed.)
Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Objects of Religious Education and Practice.
For religious education and practice, everyday objects and commodities from profane and religious contexts as well as artifacts, images, sculptures, installations, and church spaces are central. However, the interpretation and use of objects of material culture as well as the identification of religious objects proves to be extremely complex. The contributors provide interdisciplinary research perspectives from theology, religious studies and sociology and reflect on the most important thematic and methodological reference points of materiality research in the context of religious education and practice.
Men mourn as men
Practice book for gender-conscious grief counselling
Norbert Mucksch I Traugott Roser
The stereotypical determination that men grieve differently than women persists. Male grief is often associated with actionism, functioning, repression, or emotional harshness. Such attributions lead to a one-sided and thus also limiting view of grieving men. Men - but also women - become stereotypically fixated on certain behaviors, instead of encouraging them to grieve in their own individual way and to correspond to their own image of masculinity. It is easy to lose sight of why people grieve the way they do. Norbert Mucksch and Traugott Roser challenge clichés by looking at grieving men from very different perspectives. In their book, they let men have their say who have been confronted with different kinds of losses and have had to redefine their identity as men in each case. The practice-oriented book presents creative approaches and methods that are helpful in accompanying men in grief.
