Łukasz Kusmierz

October 2022 - April 2023

Łukasz Kusmierz directed the ensemble in WiSe 2022/2023 in close cooperation with Marion Wood. We are particularly grateful that he, as a former ensemble member, has returned to the ensemble as choirmaster during the transition phase.

Łukasz Kusmierz is studying music education as well as German and French for the teaching profession at the University of Münster. He wrote his bachelor's thesis on sacred music at the French royal court in Versailles, which is of particular interest to his work as a musician and conductor.

He received his vocal training in the Ensemble 22 of the University of Münster under Ulrich Haspel and Marion Wood, as well as in the University Choir of the Paris IV Sorbonne under Ariel Alonso. Łukasz Kusmierz is a graduate of the Lamberti Scholars scholarship program of the St. Lamberti parish in Münster under the direction of Alexander Toepper. He received important vocal training from Hagen-Goar Bornmann and Anna-Sophie Brosig.

He learned to conduct vocal ensembles as part of his studies with Thomas Wirtz in Münster and in close collaboration with Marion Wood, Patrick Jaskolka-Hampe and Alexander Toepper. He currently directs the instrumental and vocal ensemble Ex Præterito, which he founded.
