Welcome to the homepage of the practical course "Drug analysis, toxicology, drug monitoring and environmentally relevant investigations"!
The practical course is designed to provide knowledge and skills in the following areas:
Chemical and pyhsical-chemical properties of drugs
structure-activity relationships of drugs
Separation of drugs and excipients from mixtures, drug forms or from biological material
Stas-Otto separation pathway
Identification of drugs by color reactions and spectroscopic methods (especially IR, UV-VIS and NMR spectroscopy)
Quantification of drugs in mixtures or formulations
Enantiomer separation
Biotransformation of drugs
Syntheses of selected drug substances
General Procedure:
There will be 5 tasks to be completed independently in your own time, other tasks will take place in small groups on given dates.
Each internship participant gives a short presentation on a selected topic together with 2-3 other students.
After completion of the internship, a written knowledge examination (duration 2 time hours) takes place.
