5th Inflammation & Imaging Symposium | 8-10 Sept 2025

At our annual symposium, renowned scientists from around the world discuss the latest developments in research on inflammation and the imaging of the immune system in Münster. It is jointly organised by our Collaborative Research Centre and several other research networks from our university.

Inflammation & Imaging Lecture

On Mondays from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., we discuss the most recent advances and innovative research ideas with international colleagues and our community in Münster. Three research networks at the University of Münster – CRCs 1009 and 1450, as well as CRU 342 – have joined forces so that together, we can further develop our research strengths focusing on “dynamics and imaging of inflammation and infection”.

The exhibition inVISIBLE at the Multiscale Imaging Centre

Presenting 24 images of cells, tissue and organisms, scientists at the Multiscale Imaging Centre of the University of Münster offer insights into their research. This includes several images that have been created in projects of our Collaborative Research Centre. Additionally, a twelve-metre-high wall installation entitled “Re | Solution” embodies the topic of multiscale biomedical imaging and sheds light on our research from an artistic perspective.

Network contributions to scientific conferences

Our members engage in international exchange and collaboration as speakers and organizers of a wide range of professional conferences. In doing so, they make an important contribution to advancing research, as many new ideas are born through such events. Our network supports conferences that address core aspects of our research field, e.g. by sponsoring sessions. This includes events in the fields of medicine, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, mathematics and computer science, as well as interdisciplinary events.

Internal members meetings

The members of our Integrated Research Training Group discuss their projects with fellow doctoral researchers and the thesis advisory committee in regular progress meetings. In spring & autumn classes and additional skills workshops, our junior researchers obtain further scientific input, train in using imaging techniques and acquire further qualifications for personal career progression. At retreats, all members of our network come together to exchange knowledge and develop ideas.
