Joint Moerschi-Goycoo Christmas Party to celebrate and finish the year 2018
Tonight, we had the last joint Christmas party of the Moerschis and Goycoos. In the ex-Goycoolea group, Kathrin Norda finisher her Master thesis, Tamara Mengoni and Stefan Hoffmann both finished their doctoral projects, Christoph Engwer is about to submit his doctoral thesis, and Thanh Hao Nguyen continues his doctoral work in the group of Prof. Andreas Hensel in Pharmacy. In the Moerschbacher group, Jennifer Bubenzer, Paul Behler, and Lea Ingebrand finisher their Bachelor projects, David Gercke, Martin Bonin, Martin Frassek, and Lisanne Hameleers their Master projects, and Tobias Weikert, Sruthi Sreekumar, Sarah Prexler, Jasper Wattjes, and Anna Niehues their doctoral projects. Quite a successful year! And similarly, our output in terms of publications was again impressive: with (so far) 13 papers we are on par with last year, also with about the same cumulative index factor. In addition, we submitted one patent, and a really strong one I believe. Dr. Rebecca Melcher founded her start-up Bex-Biotech which already succeeded in having two projects funded and which will certainly be a strong partner in future projects of our group. “Our” first start-up, Evorion, continues to grow and win projects, and Franziska Schulze Bockeloh was the first Master student finishing her thesis there. We successfully finished our first AIF-ZIM project, ChitoGrow, and the largest European project we ever had, Nano3Bio. The second AIF-ZIM project, F2F, is nearing its end, and a new AIF-ZIM project, nanoControl, has just started. The European ERA-IB project funCHI will finish next year, our first Indo-German Bioeconomy International BMBF project smartBioS is running well, and a second one, Bio-Fun, which was developed by Dr. Ratna Singh, will start next year. Finally, Nouri’s German-Tunesian BMBF project Mat-Bio got a small extension and will finish next year, too. Nouri! We so much wish you could have celebrated with us this year in which we have reached new heights - that are only stepping stones for what is to come next year! We are building on your legacy.
