Bruno Moerschbacher at CeNTech’s “Science Breakfast”
Today, the Centre for Nanotechnology CeNTech in Münster organized its second annual Science Breakfast where three groups had been asked to present their research in nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology. Prof. Wolfram Pernice from the Physical Institute presented the new Münster Nanofabrication Facility which he is heading. Bruno Moerschbacher reported on our work on nanobioengineering third generation chitosans for applications in agriculture, biomedicine, and beyond. And Dr. Kathleen Spring presented the companies and their projects that are currently working in the NanoBioAnalytics Center to which possibly, “our” start-up Evorion may soon move. Prof. Harald Fuchs from the Physical Institute, initiator and director of CeNTech, proudly mentioned that area-wise, Münster now probably has the largest facilities devoted to nanotechnology in all of Germany. But he added immediately that the quality of our research is not measured in square meters but in creative and productive brains. The Science Breakfast was one opportunity for these brains to get to know each other, to continue discussing topics of mutual interest, and to begin new collaborations.
