Requirements

In Germany, candidates typically need to possess a Master or Diplom degree or equivalent in natural or life sciences (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, etc.) with above average grades (details on eligibility for admission to doctoral studies in the School of Biology or in the School of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Münster can be found in the respective guidelines).

In India, the MCGS program is restricted to the Senior Research Fellow phase of doctoral studies. Thus, only Junior Research Fellowship holders working in a MCGS partner lab can apply for membership.

Working language of the MCGS study program and in the MCGS partner labs is English so that good knowledge of the English language is mandatory. Knowledge of German (Münster) and Hindi or Telugu (Hyderabad) is not essential for admission, but basic knowledge of the local language will greatly improve your social life in town, on campus, and in the lab. Local language classes will be offered free of charge at both sides to those fellows interested, but we highly recommend to begin language classes as early as possible.
