"During this time of social distancing caused by COVID-19, we are seeking ways to safely engage with those who are committed to keeping remembering the thousands of people who have died and disappeared along the U.S./Mexico border in search of a better life."
- The Undocumented Migration Project on A Moment of Global Remembrance

A Moment of Global Remembrance is a global and digital Hostile Terrain 94 Project that everyone can participate in. It has grown out of the crisis of the pandemic in order to give everyone who wishes to commemorate border deaths the chance to do so safely despite Covid restrictions.

Everyone is invited to take part in A Moment of Global Remembrance and to film themselves reading out the name and data of a person who perished at the border. All of the 3.200 individual Video clips will be compiled into a global moment of memorializing and reflecting.

"We understand it may be difficult to speak these things out loud, but we hope this can be a way for people to both bear witness to the harsh realities of U.S. Border Patrol policies and keep the memories alive of the thousands who have died in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona."
