oin us for Scope's next webinar, Building Public Infrastructure for Online Participation, part of the series “Future of Online Participation in Cities.” This session, presented by the Brazil Chair and Brazil Center at the University of Münster, will focus on the role of data and Digital Public Infrastructures (DPIs) in creating more democratic smart cities. The discussion will explore how DPIs can enhance political participation, the types of digital infrastructure needed for smart city decision-making, and how governments, civil society, and the private sector can collaborate in co-producing essential data and technologies. Moderated by Fernanda Campagnucci, a postdoctoral researcher with the Scope Research Initiative, the panel will feature Alejandra Gonzalez, Head of Growth at Codeando México; Christian Kray, Head of the Situated Computing Lab at the University of Münster; and Peter Sailer, Head of the International Smart Cities Network at GIZ. This event will take place on 31st October 2024 at 11h (Brasilia, GMT-3) | 15h (Berlin, CET) and will be streamed live on YouTube, where participants can ask questions in real time. This webinar is part of Scope’s larger research project, led by Prof. José Carlos Vaz and supported by CAPES and the Brazil Center at the University of Münster, with institutional partnerships including the International Digital Dialogues of the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport and the Goethe Institute - São Paulo.
