How to career and care work?

Target group: postdoctoral researchers, doctoral researchers (at a final stage of a doctorate). Recent studies show: Early career researchers are still less likely to start a family than graduates of the same age working outside academia (BuWiN 2021). In this session, we will go beyond talking about career and care work as a “balancing act” or a “question of time management and priorities”. The panellists will not only share their experiences of caring and building an academic career, but also discuss the systemic barriers and their visions for improvement. Whether you are caring for a family, planning a family or want to know how you can support colleagues or staff with caring responsibilities: Come along for a cup of tea and put your questions to the panel!
