Dr. Lisa Mailleux

Lisa Mailleux is a postdoctoral researcher in the Neurorehabilitation Research Group at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at KU Leuven. She obtained her PhD at KU Leuven in 2017 studying the relation between upper limb function and neurological factors in children with unilateral cerebral palsy. With an additional clinical background as a paediatric physiotherapist, she obtained and maintained a strong affiliation with the clinical field and developed a strong interest in early (motor) development, in particular in infants with a high risk for neurodevelopmental disabilities. Focusing on the upper limb, her research interests further cover unravelling underlying (neural) mechanisms of neuromotor function (variability) as well as investigating the efficacy of intensive therapy models, using clinical, biomechanical, robotic and neuroimaging methods.
