Random matrices and iterated random functions

This workshop on random matrices and iterated random functions is mainly aimed at graduate students, PhD students, post-docs and researchers. The organizers are Gerold Alsmeyer and Matthias Löwe. The workshop is funded by the Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB 878 Groups, Geometry & Actions).

Location & How to get there

All lectures take place at the Fachbereich Mathematik und Informatik - Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster (Germany). For a map click here. The nearest airport is Münster-Osnabrück (FMO). There is a bus (line S50) that takes about 40 min from the airport to the main train station of Münster. For train connections to Münster, check here; in the search form just write "ms" in the "Destination" field. This will determine the correct train station "Münster(Westf) Hbf". Accomodation

Participants are asked to make reservations themselves or to contact us (Olga Friesen, Sebastian Mentemeier). We recommend the following hotels in walking distance to the Mathematics Department, where you can use the group code "Workshop on Random Matrices" for reservations.

Hotel Am Schlosspark	The address of the hotel is Schmale Straße 2. The closest bus stop is Wilhelmstraße (100 m). If you arrive at the main train station, take the bus line 1 (direction to Roxel) or the bus line 5 (direction to Nienberge) departing from platform B3 and B2, respectively.
Hotel Jellentrup	The address of the hotel is Hüfferstraße 52. The closest bus stop is Hüfferstiftung. If you arrive at the main train station, take the bus line 13 (direction to Eissporthalle) or the bus line 14 (direction to Zoo) departing from platform B1.

There is also a nice youth hostel (Jugendgästehaus Aasee), which is about 2.4 km from the Institute.
