The Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung gGmbH (WZB Berlin Social Science Centre) is looking to hire
two Postdoctoral research fellows (f/m/x).
The positions are full-time (currently 39 hours per week) and with an initial contract duration of three years with the possibility of renewal for more than three years. Depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate, an initial contract duration of more than three years may be possible.
The starting date is flexible, but no later than September 2021.
The positions will be within the interdisciplinary research department Migration, Integration, Transnationalization, headed by Prof. Ruud Koopmans.

The research takes an interdisciplinary perspective, encompassing sociology, political science, social psychology, economics, law, and political philosophy. Ongoing research foci include patterns and drivers of migration from West Africa; religious fundamentalism and extremism; and majority and minority rights. Methodologically, the research is mostly grounded in quantitative and experimental evidence, complemented with ethnographic, legal, institutional, and normative analyses.

Online Data Repository: The Association of Religion Data Archives (ARDA) is an international data archive for survey data on religion housed at Penn State University, with collaborators at Chapman University and Baylor University, and we are funded by the John Templeton Foundation and the Lilly Endowment, Inc. With over 1000 religion-related data sets, we provide a large selection of high-quality data for an increasingly diverse group of researchers from around the world. All of our data files are open access and freely available to the general public. We also provide interactive tools for data exploration and a host of other interesting features with which to explore data on religion.
We hope you will consider archiving your data with the ARDA. To take some of the burden off of the submission process, we clean the data, process it into multiple formats, and create online codebooks. Archiving with the ARDA is easy and of no cost to you. We only require a simple permission form, information about the collection procedures, a codebook describing the survey measures, and the data file. We accept data files in multiple formats: SPSS, Stata, Excel, or .csv files. Archiving your data with the ARDA will provide broad reach for your research and will help make our offerings even more substantial.
If you are interested in archiving your data with us, please let us know, even if you may need to delay for publication or other purposes. We can begin the very simple process at any time and can accomodate embargo dates for data currently in use.
Thank you for your consideration. Let us know if you have any questions.
