7^th International Mini-Symposium on Molecular Machine Learning, January 16^th, 2025

The seventh edition of the international symposium series on "Molecular Machine Learning", organized by Prof. Frank Glorius, will take place on January 16th, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM (UTC+1).
Four outstanding speakers will share their groundbreaking research and perspectives on various aspects of molecular machine learning, including ML-driven discovery of transition metal materials, modeling chemical reactions in solution, predicting material properties, and Data Science and ML tools for reaction optimization.

Workshop on "Machine Learning for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (ML4CCE)"

Organized at the European Conference on Machine Learning (ECML) in Vilnius in September 2024

On 09.09.2024, the first workshop on “Machine Learning for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (ML4CCE)” took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, as part of the European Conference on Machine Learning (ECML). This event, co-organized by SPP 2363 members Fabian Jirasek and Frank Glorius, brought together interdisciplinary scientists to discuss their research on the integration between machine learning and chemistry and chemical engineering. As the first workshop of this kind at a major machine learning conference, three inspiring keynote talks, seven contributed lectures, and two poster sessions facilitated a lively exchange on the latest methods and applications. Participants had the opportunity to delve deeper into topics like hybrid modeling, process optimization, property prediction, molecule discovery, and automation and anomaly detection in chemical processes. This workshop not only highlighted the significant potential of machine learning to solve complex problems in chemistry and chemical engineering but also reinforced the necessity for continuous interdisciplinary collaboration to drive the field forward. We thank all participants and helpers who contributed to making this workshop a great success.

International Leopoldina Symposium in Halle (Saale)

March 04^th - 06^th

From March 04th till March 06th we’ll host an International Leopoldina Symposium in Halle (Saale). The symposium will take place in the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. During three inspiring days, international leading scientists from diverse fields of molecular machine learning will share their research. A particular focus of the symposium is on topics such as the interpretability of model predictions, the development of automated laboratories and the use of ML for the accelerated development of functional materials and drugs. Besides insightful lectures, there will be poster sessions where participants are invited to present their research, engage in discussions and exchange ideas. 5th International Mini-Symposium Molecular Machine Learning, January 19th 2023

Gather Poster Session

In order to learn more about the participating groups and to get an overview of the different research areas and possible synergies, the PhD students of the SPP will organize a virtual poster session on Gather. The conference tool Gather allows you to walk through a virtual poster exhibition while having conversations in smaller groups. Posters will summarize the research focus of each research group to serve as a starting point for further discussions.

The Gather session will take place on the 25.08.2022 between 9:00 and 11:15 am. While not mandatory, it would be highly welcome, if the PIs would also attend the session. The access link and details on how to use Gather will be sent around by mail a few days before the event. Please, mark your calendar (and double-check, if your student knows about and what your student should present).
