The Nano- and Interface Physics Group is headed by Prof. Dr. Harald Fuchs. Currently six teams around Prof. Dr. Harald Fuchs explore nanoscale phenomena and their application to nanotechnology.
Dreams and Visions as the driving force
“Being able to analyze and to systematically modify matter directly on a molecular and atomic scale has been a dream of scientists for decades and even centuries. I am very happy that the work of my group contributes to make this dream come true.” (Harald Fuchs)
As an interdisciplinary group and in strong collaboration with chemists, biologists and medical scientists we are working in the Center for nanotechnology (CeNTech) in the field of nano-physics, nano-chemistry, nano-biomaterials and nano-medicine applying high resolution surface analytical techniques (LT-STM/AFM, LEED, XPS/UPS, PEEM, MS, FIB, CellZscope) and special preparation techniques such as PVD, OMBE and organic self-assembly.
