On the top the prototype with the normal optoelectronic chain is displayed. At the bottom the chain with the EBCCD tube can be found. Some advantages of the use of the EBCCD tube are obvious. Less normal image intensifiers are needed, therefore the costs are lower. Also the occupied space is reduced by more then a factor two when used together with a image intensifier.
