Register now: International Conference “Kraftwerk Batterie − Advanced Battery Power 2024”
The international conference “Kraftwerk Batterie − Advanced Battery Power” will be a highlight for the battery community in the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland from 10th to 11th April 2024. For the 16th time, interested players in the fields of research, development and application of batteries will come together in Münster to discuss the latest developments relating to the supply chain of battery systems. The established conference offers the specialist audience the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from industry and academia about new materials, innovative production processes, new fields of application and recycling potential. In addition to keynotes and lectures by well-known scientists and engineers, participants can expect an extensive supporting program with discussion rounds, poster sessions and more than 60 exhibitors.
Renowned Keynote Speakers from Industry and Academia
Top-class speakers provide exclusive insights into the development of battery research and industry. In her lecture “Non-Li based systems: a down to the earth vision”, Prof. Maria Rosa Palacin Peiró will show current research approaches to lithium-free battery systems. Being a scientist and Research Professor at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona, she studies commercial and pre-commercial technologies as well as the use of new materials for battery systems, such as magnesium or calcium. One of the renowned materials scientists speaking at the conference is Prof. William Chueh. He is Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Energy Science and Engineering at Stanford University. To conclude the first day of the conference, he will present his research results on the future of battery production in his lecture entitled “Building Better Batteries Faster”. As CEO of PowerCo SE and representative of the industry, Frank Blome will speak at the conference about how to shape the future from a business perspective and how to ramp up a global battery champion. The studied electrical engineer has been the head of the daughter company of Volkswagen Group since 2022, which is successfully involved in the development and production of battery cells.
Digital Campus Offers Additional Content
One week prior to the conference, all registered participants will receive information about the program, posters, lectures and exhibitors via the conference platform “hdt+ digital campus”. In this way, the visit to the face-to-face event can be prepared individually in advance. Short-term online participation is also possible, as all lectures are streamed and can be accessed as PDFs. Further information about this opportunity offer can be found here.
This year's conference is being organized by MEET Battery Research Center at the University of Münster, the Helmholtz Institute Münster of Forschungszentrum Jülich, the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) of the RWTH Aachen University and Haus der Technik (HDT).
North Rhine-Westphalia Technology Showcase
The day before the conference “Kraftwerk Batterie − Advanced Battery Power”, the Battery Day NRW will take place in the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland on 9th April 2024. Companies and institutions from North Rhine-Westphalia active in the battery technology and application market will provide insights into their work and research. The patronage lies with the Ministry of Economics, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The event language is German.
Further information and registration for both events can be found on the event website.
