Register now: International Conference “Kraftwerk Batterie - Advanced Battery Power”
The current state of research on lithium-ion batteries, novel battery systems and innovative materials, from fields of application to production, second life and recycling are this year’s topics at the international conference “Kraftwerk Batterie - Advanced Battery Power 2021”. For the first time in digital form, the established conference will take place on 28 and 29 April 2021. The extensive programme will feature keynotes by leading battery researchers Prof. Jeff Dahn, Dalhousie University, Canada, and Prof. Dr Venkat Viswanathan, Carnegie Mellon University, USA. MEET Battery Research Center is co-organiser of the conference, which takes place for the 11th time.
Challenges and opportunities in battery research
Prof. Jeff Dahn, one of the pioneering developers of lithium-ion technology, will address the topic of “An unavoidable challenge for Ni-rich positive electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries” at the symposium, inviting participants to join in a digital exchange. “Machine Learning and Robotic Experimentation for Accelerating Battery Materials Innovation and Optimization” is the title of the keynote speech by Prof. Dr Venkat Viswanathan. The chemist will give insights into his work devoted to technologies that can accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation and aviation. The programme is complemented by more than 50 lectures and an extensive poster exhibition.
Conference enable exchange and dialogue for the 11th time
The Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) of the RWTH Aachen University is organising the international event together with MEET Battery Research Center of the University of Münster, Helmholtz Institute Münster (Forschungszentrum Jülich) and Haus der Technik (Essen). Interested parties from the fields of research, development and application of batteries are invited to the conference in English language.
Technology showcase
On 27 April 2021, the day before the conference “Kraftwerk Batterie - Advanced Battery Power”, the Battery Day NRW will take place. It presents the products, services and achievements of companies and institutions in North-Rhine Westphalia which are active in the battery technology and application market. The organiser is also the Haus der Technik together with the clusters “EnergieForschung.NRW”, “EnergieRegion.NRW” and “NanoMikroWerkstoffePhotonik.NRW”. The event language is German.
