Linguistic Approaches to Literature WiSe 2024/25, Marie-Christine Benen

In this seminar we will be taking a linguistic approach to literature and literary phenomena. We will be analysing a cross-section of different forms of literature, ranging from prose to poetry, and pay attention to how linguistic features enable and/or enhance our readings and interpretations of literary texts.
Students are expected to have a basic understanding of linguistics and are required to participate actively in class (which includes preparing the assigned readings).
