The course offers a comprehensive introduction to the multifaceted field of human and children’s rights education in the English as a foreign or second language classroom, with a particular focus on the German educational context. It places strong emphasis on hands-on practice, with participants developing learning and teaching tasks and materials for both secondary and vocational educational settings. 

Please be advised that this course will be conducted as an in-person intensive seminar (Blockseminar) on the following dates: 

Friday, 8th November 2024, 8:30am - 4:30pm

- Friday, 13th December 2024, 8:30am - 3:30 pm 

- Friday, 10th January 2025, 8:30am-3:30pm

As part of your studies and the Studienleistung, you will work in small groups and present your tasks and materials as part of the ELTx conference, an international student conference organised by the University College of Teacher Education in Vienna, Austria via Zoom on 

- Thursday, 30th January 2025, 5-8pm. 

These materials and tasks as well as the design process will be the basis for your final examination (Hausarbeit) at the end of the course.
