Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte:

Theology in America is an inherited theology. American theology has existed throughout the centuries as one tied to the European tradition(s). One cannot read theology produced in America without understanding the colonial tradition from which it came, nor can one read theological works from Americans abstracted from certain traditions, centered in certain movements, or as apologetics of a particular worldview or interpretation. Thus, this seminar will engage with this varied “ad hoc” theological inheritance of American theology. The seminar will not only treat the history of Christianity in America, but also explore contemporary examples of how systematic theology has been practiced from different traditions and perspectives.
