In this class, we will explore literary texts and analyze and design tasks that

  • foster transcultural and gloabl learning,
  • cater to the diversity of the learners in our foreign language classrooms, and
  • make use of the manifold digital tools that are at the foreign language teacher’s disposal.

In so doing, we will (re-) visit relevant EFL theory such as competence orientation, task design, and digital literacy.

Among the suggested topics for our choice of literary texts are experiences of illness, coming out, and migration. The digital spaces we might want to encounter may include Bookopolis, Book Creator, and Fakebook.

Since the central aim of this class is to collect, try out and share texts, tasks, and tools, students interested in this class should bring along a sense of curiosity and a willingness to get creative.

Enjoy!
