The seminar will primarily analyse conflicts and conflict resolution mechanisms in the context of elections and referendums in Africa (Ghana, South Africa, Zambia). One focus is on digitalisation and digitality in Africa. In addition to forms of participation and the coupling of direct and deliberative democracy (DDD), the links between offline and online participation will be analysed. Of particular importance are conflicts in the context of constitutional discourses, conflicts in the area of tension between civil society and the state ("shrinking spaces").
Das Seminar ist vorrangig auf Englisch - aber kontextabhängig bi-lingual- Wesentliche Teile des Workshops sind auf Englisch und auf Deutsch.
Das Seminar hat voraussichtlich drei Präsens -Blöcke (zwei Vorbereitungssitzungen und einen zweitägigen Workshop. Zudem stehen im Learnweb weitere Materialien (Online Texte, Videos, Gathertown) zur Verfügung, die genutzt werden müssen.

Der Workshop findet am 27.06/28.06.2024 im Franz-Hitze-Haus statt.
