Those of you who would like to receive 6 CP for the module "Interdisciplinary Aspects of Geographic Information Science" will need to pass an additional e-learning exercise.
Wayfinding and navigation is a very central topic in geographic information science and spatial cognition. In this course we will discuss human wayfinding strategies in indoor/outdoor and real/virtual environments. We will look at different ways to communicate wayfinding instructions to the users. Furthermore, we will learn about different popular routing algorithms in existing route planners.
This seminar consists of (physical) lectures, student presentations, readings and discussions as well as e-learning units.
