This course is on the analysis of trajectory data (e.g. of spatial-temporal GPS data of data from magnetic compasses of mobile devices). We focus on the analysis of spatio-temporal trajectories first and then take a look at the latest scientific work on semantically enriched trajectory data. In the first sessions, we will have an introduction to the topic and an overview over different research directions and approaches. Afterwards, students should prepare and present a short presentation based upon one specific topic in the field. In the end there will be a programming tasks for modelling and analysing (semantic) trajectories. Basic knowledge in Java and/or Python is required.
