Goals

This course aims to apply spatial decision-making systems, methods and techniques such as multi-criteria decision analysis, sensitivity and uncertainty analysis for a variety of spatial modeling tasks. We also work with the GIS spatial analysis methods such as spatial aggregation and correlation assessment, hot spot mapping and etc methods which can be employed for variety of application in GIS environments such as urban planning, environmental modeling and assessment. The examination will be based on the final written exam on the final test at the end of the semester. There are several question from the course context and student should answer the question on the final test.

Motivation

Within this course we mostly work on GIS dataset, data acquisition, standardization and aggregation methods. We will use GIS multiple approach in the context of Multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA), sensitivity and uncertainty analysis, model maker, validation methods and techniques. In the practical sections we will employ GIS-MCDA analyzing for urban planning applications such as crime mapping, site selection, public service, modelling, land use allocation and scenario based sustainable development analysis. The practical task in this course will be carried out using Arc GIS and QGIS as well as some open source small software will also need such as super decision
