Plants
have acquired unique features that they do not share with animals, for example:
they are able to produce their own energy through photosynthesis, they
propagate through seeds that protect their embryo and allow them to travel through
space and time, they flower in response to environmental conditions, they contain
particular cells that remain totipotent and show unlimited growth, etc. The aim
of this course is that students learn with examples some of the key findings in
the history of plant science.
